This plate doesn't end well...
At this stage things are looking fine. I judge the clay is strong enough to have a footring attached to it...
... however, the clay wasn't strong enough to stand the force. This picture just about shows the plate flattening out.
I am very short on Pittormie clay and so I destroy this plate so I can reuse the clay. Clay is endlessly reusable until it is fired in the kiln. I really want to get a decent Pittormie plate out if I can, as it is such a great farm, and one we use quite a lot.
