These plates came out of the kiln. You can see the plaster moulds behind the plates and get an idea of the shrinkage involved. They were made with Valentines red earthenware clay, the next stage
is to try make some using Easter Kincaple clay - there is still some learning and practice required in how to use these moulds. So gradually I am moving from the refined and blended Devonshire (I think...) Valentine's clay, to our unblended but reliable Easter Kincaple (St Andrews) clay, to the clays we have dug around Fife for this project, which have unknown qualities...
